Our staff/crew starter program is implemented utilizing the same tools of the trade as the Food Manager’s Certification course. The Safe Staff® Food Handler Certificate Program easily integrates food safety into any existing onboard training program. Enhanced assessment will be taken at the completion of training to measure whether employees have the minimum competency in food safety knowledge. The aim of this qualification is to provide individuals with knowledge of the basic food safety practices, the hazards and risks to food safety presented by food operations and personnel, together with cost-effective, practical control measures. Individuals seeking this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food. Its topics are regarded by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) – Conference for Food Protection (CFP) – Department Of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) as important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food.
The Florida Restaurant and Logging Association (FRLA) – ANSI-approved qualification has been developed specifically for Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism. It is therefore fully compliant with industry and regulatory standards as well as being recognized by environmental health practitioners, auditors and other enforcement officers. It is accredited and recognized internationally.
